Hi,
Quite new to collecting WW1 items, and I wonder if any members here could tell me the difference between Soldbuch and Militarpass?
I have a few of each, "Soldbuch" (two varying print fonts) appear to be a soldier's personal "pay book" type of document, whilst the "Militarpass" seems equivalent to a Third Reich period Wehrpass; which was kept and updated by Regimental Headquarters.
Also, why are "Militarpass" issued in different colours?
I have two at present, one which is pink (artillery?) and one which has a grey cover.
This is probably an easily resolved question to a more experienced WW1 collector, but to me I cannot quite figure things out!
Thanks for any help on these questions, I know very little on this subject
Best wishes,
John.
