    Books to read?

I know there's a separeate thread/section for books in books section in WAF, but guys over there are mostly talking about WW2, so I'd like to get recommendations on English language books for around WW1 related things... (from somewhere around 1870 - 1918)

For recommendations, I'd prefer the ones which person recommending then has actually read....

First one I could recommend are (surprise since of my collecting interests...)

    1) Alan Palmer : Twilight of Habsurgs
    2) G.L. Sulzberger : The Fall of Eagles
    3) AJP Taylor: The Habsburg Monarchy 1809-1918

Any other good ones, let me know - this period books are terribly difficult to find in my country nowadays - for ww2 books situation is of course totally different....

Regarding Imperial Austrian awards, I think that the only book in English is the old:

Jos. v. Falkenstien (a.k.a. Dan Ragsdale): "Imperial Austrian Medals and Decorations", Tucson (Arizona), 1972.

It looks like a home-made book and contains some mistakes, but it still is a very good reference (it doesn't describe the various orders of the A-H monarchy, though).
