WW1 EK1 K.A.G. marked, help!

Hi all,

I was just offered this medal along with a mothers cross in gold. This a 1st class iron cross WW1 has a pin reverse stamped "K.A.G.", I was just wondering your opinions on it, another helpful member said it was an early one with an original pin that was replaced. I was directed here after posting it in the wrong area last time by accident!

You can rest assured the answer Streptile gave you on the Iron Cross is rock solid.

If you go back I believe he said the catch was replaced/repaired, not the pin.
