China Medal Group - Got This One!

    Hello again Gentlemen,
As I reported in my other China Medal Bar thread, I snoozed and lost an opportunity to pick up a nice China service medal bar group. However, even this blind chicken finds a kernel of corn once in awhile. Here is a cute little group with a Prussian Crown Order 4th which, upon closer examination, was found to be made by J. H. Werner of Berlin. The JHW on the edge of the cross is the first order by this firm I have cone across. Can't get them all but this one has joined my little family of China service groups.

        Bobby Lee,

Great find! I really like the look of this bar, very pleasing. I have a particular fondness for bar's with the tailor labels on the reverse...just a nice added touch. Perhaps giving a clue where the original owner was from or was stationed at that time anyhow.

The Prussian Crown Order looks extremely nicely done...a rarer maker I should think as well?

        Thanks for sharing...!

Thats a very nice noncombattant bar, Bobby. The Crown Order by JHW is also a first for me.

          best wishes,
          Gerd

Interesting navy type WO/Snr. technical NCO who got promoted bar. Unusual to see the enlisted LS medal and a crown order together.

                    hmmmm...

The more I peruse my ranklists the more convinced I am that this bar belonged to a naval zahlmeister @1913-1916. What is the LS medal? D2 or D3 class?
                    Thanks,
                    JeMc

A little. The reson I say navy "zahlmesiter is that as a group they seem to all have the crown order yet also have an odd lot of LS medals. All other officers only have the 20 /25 year crosses. Also, EK2s are common to everybody else, although this guy might've worn his in the button hole. Medics and Engineers seem also to have a lot of Hansa crosses as well as EK2s. We can't know for certain, but my bet is navy Beamter/zahlmeister.

Discovery! The bar came in a little box and underneath the bottom paper was a slip of written paper and a LS ribbon. Any of you guys read script German? Here is the slip of paper. Hey Jeff, maybe another clue?

Here is the ribbon, a reserve LS I believe. The script seems to say something about a 4 medal bar.

The script seems to say something about a "departed" or "deceased" Father?
