New close-ups of the Godet 1914 GC from Norway.

    Hi all.

I have taken some nice close-ups of this Grand Cross 1914 with the maker: Godet.

Here is the link as it was found untouched:

A good friend and collector from Oslo, got this GC for a short time ago.
It came from the estate of a Norwegian voluntary. I do not know if his father was a civil or a military person? But he was in Germany at the end of WW1 and came back to Norway with several items. One of them was this Godet GC. It has been in the family until for some months ago.

This is the story I got about this medal.
If there are any "red flags" I appreciate to hear about it.

    Regards

    Derek

                        looking good so far

a grey thin line of solder ,,,(soft solder) ,,,,like the little brothers the ek's second class.

                        two questions

                        could it be that .
on the top arm there's a almost invisible solder line ,,?

and ,,the frame looks like it was blackened together with the core ?
or is it just the picture ?
                        can you check ?

                        regards kay

I think it's a fine piece. A period copy, of course.

I would love to have it. In fact I was in the middle of negotiating for it when the owner sold it to you. Never heard back from him.

So if you ever want to sell it, please let me know
                          Best regards,

                            Hi Kay.

                            "could it be that .
on the top arm there's a almost invisible solder line ,,?"

                            - Correct. The line there is very thin.

"and ,,the frame looks like it was blackened together with the core ?
or is it just the picture ?"

                            - I do not think blackened. It looks likt the silver has changed to be black over the last 100 years.

                              Hi Streptile.

                              "I think it's a fine piece. A period copy, of course. "

                              - But a copy from around 1915 as Godet has GC in their catalogue ?

                              Regards
