Zink

Does anyone have any info on zink made badges i.e. were badges made from this metal die struck ,cast or die forged.Was it pliable enough to strike or did it require heating until soft to get it to 'flow'. I have not come across a hollow example of any badge in zink only solid,maybe that's a clue ?? Thanks Ferg

Hi Ferg,

my Background is 3rd reich and certainly in that period, all 3 manufacturing techniques were used with Zink.

Hollow back awards and insignia were also produced.
