It really goes to show the difference in the then and now approach to the production of these awards. Now it is all about costs and time, back then it was all about the craftsmanship, detail and overall quality.
Items like this make me wonder in a hundred years time just how much of what we make today could be viewed in the same way. Or even how much will still be around with the increasing use of very short lived materials.
This would be a great piece to put under the microscope, most of the extreme detail in this piece can only be microns deep (nothing more than a scratch in the surface of the die/mould ) a true sign of a crafted piece not an industrial one.
