Medal Bar in a box!

Gentlemen,

I recently purchased this medal and ribbon bar grouping. The ribbon bar is a Godet made piece. The group was sold with this very nice box.

The box has the word/name "Kragen" embroidered into the lid.

Does anyone know what sort of box this is? I was thinking perhaps a small hat box. It would be interesting to hear others' thoughts.

It's a box for a collar or collars, a shirt collar maybe?

Used for the detachable shirt collars of the early 20th Century.
