      Hemmeter

      George,

Walter Hemmeter was originally a reserve officer in the 7. Feld-Artillerie-Regiment Prinz-Regent Luitpold, a Bavarian field artillery regiment. Just prior to the outbreak of the war he was a Leutnant der Reserve with seniority of the 8 Jan 1912. I think he was serving with another unit when he received his EK1. I have a copy of this regiment's officers' association list (somewhere ). I am trying to find it! This may give some more details.

      Regards
      Glenn

          Walter Hammeter

          George,

the member list of the Officers' Association of the former Royal Bavarian 7th Field Artillery Regiment "Prinz-Regent Luitpold" does not add much. It does confirm however that Walter Hammeter survived the war and was still alive in 1932. He is listed as an Hauptmann der Reserve a.D. Profession - Attorney and living in Munich at Bürkleinstraße 7/II.
          Regards
          Glenn
