      Italian infantry officer or NCO visored cap badge (freggi). Judging from the backing cloth, I would say it is pre-WWII.

          Yes, it's an Italian cap badge (to be sewn on the kepi-type headdress) of the 39th Infantry Regiment, embroidered on grey-green cloth.

          From what I can see, it's of the officer's type in silver bullion.

          It can be dated from WW1.
