WWI Riding Boot? Found in Erbendorf, DE

I recently got back from Europe. I found this in an antique store, but unfortunately the woman told me in broken English that she thought she gave the other one away to a prop or theater company

Regardless, it's in good shape and pretty cool. Wanted to get everyone's opinion on exactly what it is. My guess is a WWI officer's riding boot? It came with this boot tree.

Can a dollar value be placed with only one boot?

The boot has attributes that would go along with your identification. I would have not problem with calling it a WWI era officer's riding boot. As to worth for a single boot, I can't imagine it having much. I bought a grouping of WWI French boots many decades ago (all lefts) hoping to someday find a right to match one of them. Never happened.

So, I guess the value is whatever the market will bear. Ebay is the best place for something like that. You will find out what interest there is, if any.

          Regards,
          Chip
