1914 EK2 Maker Marks - How Many, How Rare?

Well, while considering parting with a few of my items, I was looking at some of my 1914 EK2's & I began to think about the Makers Marks stamped on the rings.

Mine have the following marks (at least the ones I can make out or see):
    "A"
    "K"
    "MFH"

I was wondering about how many known makers of the 1914 EK2 there are & are any of these makers rarer than others?

Also, how much does something like the MM effect the value on these earlier crosses?

Anyone with thoughts or answers, thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Chris

    Mm

I have over 100 1914 Ek2 and I don't think the MM has an effect in the price.

I have been trying long and hard to find a 1914 EK2 that would be considered truly 'rare'.....I just don't think their is such a thing.

An 'Onyx/Glass core' EK2 CAN probably be considered rare....and then perhaps a 'blued core' but after that, they truly are dime a dozen.

A few of the more 'prestigious' makers marks like a 'G' (godet) or a 'W-S' (wagner) may squeeze an extra 10-15 euro out of someone looking to complete some sort of 'set' - and who in this day an age can really trust a 'non-com' ribbon........I don't personally see 'rarity' in imperial EK2's hinging as much on maker marks as third reich stuff for example.

A case makers mark would play as big a role in 1914 EK2 rarity for me.....for example a nice 'Godet' or 'Rothe & Neffe' marked case and EK2 would probably tempt me, but other than that.....who cares?

      Here's a thread I started on just such a topic a while back...1914 EK2 Variant info required..

      JMO....

      cheers
