Is the cross vaulted? if so I would assume the backing plate would also be vaulted. This backing plate isn't vaulted but just a flat disc. Maybe the original backing disk has been lost and replaced with the flat disc..... Just my opinion.... but I could be wrong..... Harold

Looks flat in my view on here maybe the disk is on backwards? get this impression because of the shadows on the front view
