          I think that it is a "V", but if I'm wrong, please correct me ...

            It looks like a "V", but can also be "N". What do you think?

              All fine, but the last ist definately a Z or N, a V looks different

                It is, IMO, an 'N'. I have the same mark ('N'), and with the same obverse and reverse core...

                      I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that the pin back
                      is an Otto Schickle and the screwback is a P&L.

                        In fact on these two examples (which is not always the case) the crosses have the very typical WWII-era hardware for, respectively, Schickle and P&L -- in addition to the recognizable obverse die characteristics.
