EK 1914 II. Kl. Herst. FR (Friedländer) u. Punzierung 900 im Bandring, Übergröße

    I don't know. But EUR 111 (US$ 150) seems a bit steep for this EK2.

    What do you think?

    Best,

Too much for me also... but I found that the same seller has another cross now for sale... with same 900 double mark:

Can it be a coincidence? Or someone got a nice 900 stamp and punches ordinary crosses to increase the price?!

      Added pics of current sale.

its all a matter of perspective .

I am not unfamiliar with paying for overpriced crosses ,,must admit ,,
                I am still happy I did ,

one day ,,,,every collector will buy such a overpriced cross ,,,

                its inevitable , mr Anderson

EKIIs in general have been increasingly significantly in price in recent months.

There seems to be a comparatively large supply of CD800s showing up on eBay, all selling closer and closer to the 100 Euro mark.

So, while incredibly sad and disgusting, it's not surprising that someone got the bright idea to start stamping the rings of genuine crosses with '900' in order to get another 60+ Euros a piece.

But, fortunately for collectors, the greed and stupidity of this particular dealer, which prompted him to sell two, one right after the other, immediately red flags them. I should think any EK with a '900' or '935' mark is pretty scarce.
