      question ?

do you think they're from the same manufacture ? By Montgomery Burns (Kay)
To answer Kay's Question: At the very least the inside of the top lid insert portions of the cases are probably from the same manufacturer.

Did anyone see the cases on Klaus Butschek's 2013 Autumn Auction this past weekend? He had 2 different cases for EK2's that had the same maker mark on the underside of the cases. They had: "EISENBERGER ETUISFABRIK" maker marked as well as "ges.gesch." marked. This maker is famous for making the "Zur Erinnerung an Deutschlands große Zeit" cases that are more frequently seen for sale. (See lot #'s 210 & 211)

I don't want to spoil this, but to me the font used on the first case doesn't look contemporary. By Morel5000 (Michel)
It doesn't spoil anything for me. I think everyone agrees that these are private purchase cases, that they are not any sort of an "issue" case for the EK2. I never had the belief that these were 1914-1918 era made cases. My belief is that these cases are from the 1920's era, and maybe as late as the early 1930's of the end of the Weimar Republic. I'm open to hearing other opinions.

      Thanks,

      Alan

The font seems to be 2000's era...

So is this particular font available in Germany still today, and available to use? I would like to know.

          Thanks,
