Dear Sirs I wonder if anybody can tell me if they have encountered a Gard Du Korps troopers helmet with extra holes for another helmet plate having been filled in (hardly visible).Did they put other helmet plates on these helmets?.Many Thanks Joey.

Short answer is no. The only plate change I can think of would be some sort of upgrade of the existing plate or replacement for a damaged plate. Or some sort of radical change from a 6th Kurr helmet. I have seen a REPRO Gd Kurr officer helmet with barely visable filled in holes in the top of the shell. I was told that these "holes" were faked in manufacture as people were catching on that the helmets with only the wing nut connecting the chicken were fake. This particular example was very well done but did not have the reinforceing spine at the back. Hope this helps. A similar topic was covered in the pickelhaubes forum recently.
