    Neal O'connor's collection

Did anyone actually look into those blue drawers at the corner of aviation awards in Deutsches Technikmuseum Berlin
Almost missed the drawers since they look nothing special... later found out they have the Neal's collections inside, including at least dozens of PLMs and plenty of medal bars and photos, truly amazing!

I was there many years ago and really enjoyed it. I did not and it was confirmed my a friend of Neal's that the medal bars to the PLM holder were put togther by Neal.

Most of this groups are only for display and put together by O'Conner.
Some of the awards are not issued pieces. Most of this bars are displayed on his books.
He donate his collection many years before his death.

Realy original are the groups of:

        Hptm Rudolf Berthold
        LtdR Josef Jacobs
        Lt Hermann Pfeiffer
        Olt Ernst Hamscher

        Regards

        Alex

I was not aware of the fact that the bars are put together, my attention totally went to the PLMs, if I'm not mistaken those're mostly real deals with couple of post WWI pieces.

                          What a wonderful sight!

I also see Hauptmann Berthold's Group (the one mounted on the "Zur Erinnerung an den tapferen Helden" tafel): I remember that, many, many years ago it was auctioned at Klenau's in Munich.

I should have the auction catalogue, somewhere...

                          Best wishes,

                          E.L.
