    EK2 and EK1 "FR" matched set

    It's been a while since I was able to put together an EK1 and 2 matched set. So I hope you'll enjoy looking at these two "FRs" I picked up recently. Please let me know what you think of them. Thanks.

    Best, Alex

            Thanks for your kind words, guys. I'm really pleased with this set.

            Btw, is there a consensus on what "FR" might stand for?

            Best,

            Alex

                FR = "Frickin' Righteous"

                  I was always led to believe the "FR" was probably Frank & Reif, Stuttgart.

                  Has that been disproven?

                    Can't say that I'm familiar with that maker.

                      the FR in a square is a so called Schriftzeichen ...

                      Fritz Rösler Köln Rothgerberbach 44a had such a Schriftzeichen ,,,

                      there is no telling if he would be the maker ,,but so far the only proven evidence of such a Schriftzeichen linked to a jeweller .

                      schiftzeichen from More known medal makers like Carl dillenius , HJ Wilm are in there to so ,,

                      for me the only real evidence that would back up speculations ..

                      so far ..

                        I think Tony is right on.

                        Frank and Reif is the accepted maker BUT like most
                        Imperial makers marks, it is really only our best guess.
