    EK2 Case Opinions

Hello chaps, recently I bought a stunning Sy and Wagner EK2 from Ebay which came in this case. I feel that it is a generic award case that has been modified to fit the EK in at some point prior to the seller owning it. The seller is fortunately a really genuine guy who has offered me a full refund. I told him I would post the case here to confirm or deny my suspicions for him first. Your opinions would be very useful gents.

          Why?

Glenn, What are your reasons for saying the case has been modified?

The homemade nature of the insert and it's fixing into the case itself.

              case

I understand your concern. It has been my experience that case where manufactured by a case manufacture and specficly made for the EK2. Also I think custom cases were made by jewelers. This maybe the case with your case. My recommendation is when in doubt, don't buy. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the replies Paul. Anyone else got any thoughts on this one?

Hi Glenn, the age to the front of the velvet appears genuine. It certainly looks as if the cross has been in there a long time. I know fading and age can be faked, but this looks OK to me.

If you are not happy, I would return it. Any kind of doubt will spoil the enjoyment of owning the peice in the long run.

                  Cheers, Ade.

                    Glenn,

Looks fine to me - there was a lot of custom work done. I am never surprised by the amazing variety. Can we see the cross?

Thanks Ade, thanks Marc. Must be getting paranoid in my old age. Think I owe the seller an apology. Here's the cross for you Marc. Ring stamped S.W.
