    I got these two today,the question is why is one bigger than the other? I'm sure it's not for a bigger sized helmet since it seems all Germans back then had really small heads .

      As Rick says it's either a Tschako/Tschapka eagle and a Pickelhaube eagle or a Pickelhaube eagle and a lobstertail eagle.
