    Document set

    Hello,
Got quite a few imperial documents earlier this year in a trade with a friend and will try to post them over the next few days. This one has four documents to one man. Can anyone explain why he received two different documents for the EK2 from two different divisions, and if I'm reading correctly, which list him as being a member of two different subunits?
    Thank you,
    Dale

I think you have the documents of two different men. The two Hugo's must have been relatives (most likely father and son), as in the earlier document he is called "Unteroffizier" and in the later one "Musketier", which is a lower rank. My guess is that the one in the Landsturm was the father and the one in the infantry the son. Notice too that the punch holes are different, as they are two different sets.

        Chip.
Thank you, that makes sense. I think you're right, probably to a father and son, with two documents to each. You're definitely ahead of me in reading the script, I could make out Unteroffizier but not Musketier.

A really nice pairing you have there Dale, if Chip is correct then it makes it even the more special to have the generation link. As we all know too well that many a family group was involved in the conflicts of the Great war.
