    Austrian mount EK2

My unmarked EK2 on an Austrian mount. No idea if the ribbon setup is original or not. I bought it back in 2002 in an antique shop in Bucharest.

IMO ,Don't see any problem with the mounting ribbon.

        Hello,

also in my opinion, your Austrian EK ribbon is original.

I would like to post the image of my three EK-II/1914 with their triangular ribbons: one for non-combatants and one in the so-called "Prinzengröße".

The 1st and 3rd crosses have blued instead of black-lacquered iron cores:

...the ring of the cross with blued steel core, shows the typical, Austrian "star" mark for non-precious metal:

Very nice crosses Enzo and the one from Dale has an original Austrian ribbon for me too.
                Here's mine.

                Kind regards, Peter

Well, I think that the non-combatants' triangular EK-II ribbon of the Austrian type, is quite rare or very difficult to find.

My n.c. EK-II, came with a Group of orders and medals of an Austrian medical officer, who received during WW1.

                  Best wishes,

                  Enzo (E.L.)

                    Hi elmar - nice pieces.

do you have a name of the recipient of the non comb. ribbon?

normally a medical officer would have gotten the combatant ribbon.

you can get those ribbons sometimes at german auction´s houses.

i don`t think they are period pieces...

                      Hello,

it'a pity that the group has no name: I've found it not far from home, composed of a MVK 3rd Class with KD; 2 MVM in Bronze with red ribbon and war ribbon; Gold Merit Cross with Crown (war ribbon, after 1914); Military Jubilee-Cross 1908; Iron Cross 2nd Class n.c. and the oval badge for military medical personnel.

                      E.L.

P.S.: I agree that many austrian-type EK ribbons, especially the n.c. one, are of recent manufacture.

As soon as the non-com ribbon is looped on both sides and the metal device on the reverse is from silvered (and not gilded materials as recent reproductions), I like it.

Don't worry: it's as an Austrian, pre-1918, ribbon should be.

                          Best wishes,

                          E.L.
