    Ek2 "fr" ???

    Hello Gents,

I have come upon this EK2 which has been suggested as an "FR"??? ,looking through the data base have found no example with the mark incised like this.
All others have raised marks, your opinions and feedback are welcome.
The cross looks genuine from the photos but would appreciate help on the marking

Perhaps the guy working on this was just a little heavy-handed with the punch. So, maybe it is 'Fr'.

Hard to say with 100% certainty, but I would trust that mark. Most makers had a few different stamps.
      Best regards,

That's what I have always believed.

Surely an authentic stamp as you can see a lot of patina inside.
            Nice cross btw

Sorry guys slight typo in the title The cross has been presented as "FR" not "Fr" and you can't edit a thread title.

Thanks to all for your feedback, does anyone have a clear marked example of both "FR" and "Fr" on hand that has an incised mark?

Your both right as I understand it "Fr" was for Friedlander and "FR" was for Frank & Reif, but it's a 1914 EK2 maker so who knows could be the same maker using upper and lower case letters on odd days and all upper case on even, just to mess with us collectors 100 years later
