Saxony merit medals on single parade mount ribbon

    Dear fellow collectors:

Herewith I would like to show a nice example of a "Silberne Verdienstmedaille des ernestinischen Hausorden mit Schwerterspange "1914" of the Saxony duchies.

My brother and I begun a couple of years ago to collect single parade mounted medals, which are particularly rare, since the most medals are mounted together on a bar.

Maybe the Herren Rick Lundström, Stogieman Rick and Spiess are trying to monopolize the marked on ribbon bars, which I do also like to collect, but mind you: I together with my brother Marco have got a evil plan... to get as many medals on "Einzelbandspange" as possible. I hope that we are the only ones to collect them.

I forgot... If somebody has some nice examples to share or even sell, please let me know! Especially those with nice tailor's labels on the reverse.

Your interesting comments are most appreciated!

    Horrido!

    Claudio

      Hi Claudio,

please post the picture again, I also cannot open it. I would really like to see it.

I liked everytime every kind of decoration mounted for wear, if it is a medal bar, a ribbon bar or a simple lapel bow.

      Best regards

      Daniel

Herewith I am sending a nice example with "Herstelletikette" (taylor's label) on the back... Simple medal but very nicely put together.

          Ciao,

A nice example of a single mounted "Roter Adler 4. Klasse, Frackspange" (for the tuxido or civilian formal clothing):

                  Daniel,

My brother and I have many more of these Medals on "Einzelbandspange" but unfortunately they are not with me. He has all the medals in Switzerland. I will ask him to send me a couple more, when he has time.

I am glad that you liked these medals, which are really more attractive to me than the WWII badges... especially the level of workmanship is higher and better quality.

                  Ciao,

                  Claudio

P.S.: Please note a EK 2. Kl. on "Einzelbandspange" with "Wiederholungsspange", 1st model (convex box 1939)

                      Rick,

We have about 40-50 of these Einzelbandspangen... most medals are not too much worth (KVK, Westwall, Ehrenkreuz,...) but they are really well mounted on the individual bar. We just started collecting them since a couple of years.

Thank you for your kind words.

                      Ciao,

                      Claudio

                        Claudio

I'm a big fan of these bars as well. Really like the early EK2 spange!

Do you have any pictures of lots of the bars together?

                        Regards

                          Rich,

Once, when I will be back in Switzerland on vacation, I will take some pictures with my digital camera of my single mounted medals' collection... I promise!

                          Ciao,

                            Hi Claudio,

nice and unusual EK mounting. The guy should also have a Frontkämpferkreuz, but maybe he only wanted to wear his EK.

                            Quite interesting thread!

                            Best regards

Herewith I am posting also the reverse of the EK 2. Kl. mit "1939" Spange. It was a "display copy" of a "Herstellerfirma" which had it in its shop. Never worn, just in mint conditions, but without the needle on the back, because it wasn't thought to be worn.

                              Ciao,
