    Imperial Crosses for Review

    Hello,

I have these two iron crosses, looking for more info on them and thoughts about them. The one with the ribbon is marked on the ring, but can't make it out.

The Nazi one last in row, is a bad FAKE, it was just there in the pics.

            The marking is Wilm?

Also, there is a little rust on the back of both. Is there anything that should be done with that? Or to stop any more????

            Thanks

              Hi

I would agree to WILM. Maybe you can try to clean with sewing machine oil.
You take a cotton bud and only clean carefuly the rusty places not more.
This should even sealing the cross.

              regards kai

                Both are looking fine.

                The first is indeed Wilm.
The second one has a core related to Hansen.

                Best regards,
                Michel

I am happy to give a on both cross's, and IMO the ribbon looks to good to. The second cross "Hansen core" shows some very heavy wear to the reverse bending suggesting it may have come from a Ordenspange (medal bar) both have a very nice patina .

You can try Ballistol. Works good.

Thanks for all the help on them. I was pretty sure the Hansen was good but not 100% on the second one.

What is the value of them? Not that I want to sell them, but I just want an idea of what I have.

                      Thanks

Last is an "Fr" Variation. Own two of them, same style, but with Fr marking.

Value is about $70 each, maybe +$10-20 for the Hansen-core type.
                          Best regards,
