Hey everyone,

I'd like to hear your opinion on this vaulted screwback EK1. The core is magnetic, the screwback disc is missing. Who manufactured this cross ? To me it looks like a post imperial area produced cross...

The joining of the front frame and the back plate looks terrible to me. I can't see this ever being allowed out of the maker's hands like this. It may be possible that the front and back had separated and one of the previous owners tried to re-solder it back together. Unless it was dirt cheap I would have passed on buying the cross

This cross has much interventions on it.

Core is repainted and despite looks like all parts are original, it has been repaired so the frames attached together once more to each other and this in a very bad way, amaterish work if I can express better.

In short, original parts in a bad frame shape cross and repaint core.

I'd say screwpost is reattached or replaced too. See the spots (burning?) from hot soldering around the screw. And those filing marks on reverse are very ugly (and recent looking) too.

What a pitty. Old untouched cross, even if broken, would be more desirable than this.
