Hello all,

Can any of you Imperial guys fill me in on these bits that came in a Vet bring back lot I just acquired? Are the button-hole devices to signify an Imperial EK_2 by chance?

Hi William

Karasburg, a small town in southern Namibia (formerly German South West Africa, then South West Africa after WW1). During German Colonial times, a number of rebellions occurred which resulted in military (colonial) action - likewise during WW1, South Africa (allied to Britain) undertook military campaigns which eventually resulted in the surrender of German forces.

To the north of Karasburg are some hills/mountains ("Berge" in German and Afrikaans) - a bit of research will have to be done, but if this clasp relates to GSWA, then a battle/"skirmish" must have taken place close to the town of Karasburg.

This clasp is for full size colonial medal and I don't think it's related to EK ribbon rosette. I can't tell if the clasp is original, as these are heavily faked. Original clasp should have two prongs, not that "mono-bridge", but maybe it was produced that way and then prongs cut in two???

it is. These came from a Vet that brought back a ton of stuff from Hoffstätter in Bonn, he must have gotten into their manufacturing area. Here are some other bits.
