1874 Vet Association pin

Found this over the weekend and thought I would share. I am amazed at the eclectic stuff I find up here!

This veteran's piece is missing the ribbons that would have hung from the holes in the back. 1874 was the date of the founding of the Kriegerbund and is not the age of the badge, which is probably from the 1900-1930s time frame.

Yes, I think so. I think perhaps each ribbon hanging down (really one just folded behind the badge so that both ends hung down) was half blue and half white split vertically. I have never owned one of these, but have seen plenty over the years. Someone here must have one to show you. I'm just going from memory.

Here is another common Bavarian style veteran's pin. Different manufacturer and (I think) different ribbon...same general idea.

Like the Wurttemburg Kriegerbund-I believe these were given or bought by veterans from different towns which is on the ribbon.. sorry for the faded ribbons.. Mike
