Finally. Saw that one in Frank's site and was drooling for it...
Could not aim so high nevertheless. Congrats, enjoy this amazing piece. Not read much about boxes but this one was ad as probably coming from a awardee. Would love to hear others opinions.. top quality is granted

Cross and case looks to me like private purchases, not award pieces, otherwise good.

Your cross is in outstanding condition, congrats.

              Hello Eric,

              very nice Set

Some time ago this Set was offered to a friend of mine
but finally the supposed seller were detected to cheat him.
Another photos from this set were abused from cheats who
copys the photos and try to sell it.

I never to see this Set anymore!

              kind regards

Great cross, nice case but I do not like the gold crown at all - looks like bling to add $ to a sale.

                  Regards
                  Mike

Evaluate the item, not the story and not the seller's reputation!

Once I purchased such crown in the konvolut of 5 Regimental Kappenabzeichen (cap badges). It had two splints and it looked to me like Kappenabzeichen too.

So, maybe it is add on, but hard to say how old.

                    Just my thoughts, Miro

                      Nice set
I like both cross and case.
This was listed on ebay a while ago, i was bidding for it but suddenly it dissapeared. Few weeks later it was on the Scholz website for 3x the original price.

                        Very nice and lovely cross!

There are some different crown models and heraldic with it.
                        See here which crown matches:
                        http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crown_%28heraldry%29

I don't understand why the crown is on the case. That is why I personally have my reservations for the case. Do all Sedlatzek cases have this crown? Was it optional when purchased? I haven't seen that much cased Setlatzeks so I don't know. It could have been added by the original owner or later on the way to boost the value...

                        How is it attached?

                        Best regards,
                        Michel

Very interesting Michel. Through your link I resemble it to a Graf (count) type of crown from the holy roman empire type (considering german award)
Might be possible. Unfortunately there is no roll for this one
