Bavarian Style WW1 Southwest Africa Veteran's Ribbon Bar

The League of the Two Rickies held another convocation today, as part of our sinister plot to obtain All The Ribbon Bars, and this small gem (it is the 15 mm doubled size) came to live at my house.

I passed it by when it was on The Back Streets Of Collecting's September 1994 auction, but I've been brooding about it ever since...

The Bavarian Military Merit Order/Cross ribbon is the WW1 frontline valor type, followed by a Luitpold Jubilee Medal (probably 1911 type), the 1904-1906 Southwest Africa Herero-Hottentot War Medal (tiny bar "Oranje" for operations along the Oranje River, December 1905 to March 1906), and a Bavarian Long Service award (so this was probably an NCO's bar).

Now all I need is a tiny Colonial Medal bar to go with my China and SWA ones!

Carl already told us about your plot! He discovered it while sniping one day and told all that would listen.

              Hey Daniel

Nice bars! I especially like the 3X one with devices on all 3 ribbons. A bit unusual, eh?

Yeah, a bit unusual. This is the first EK-device I see on a non-Saxon bar!

                Best regards

                Daniel

And the second tiny "Venezuela" I have seen (the full size is somewhere back on our old pages on a medal bar...)

                      Alas,

I have nothing this neat to post. The only mini-spange I had on a bar now lives with some wizard-type creature in Central Massachusetts (there are some who call him.......Tim, err no, I mean Rick)
