if you put a paper on the logo and use a pencil going up and down with not to much power, i think its easier to identify (then to read) the markers mark.
              perhaps it will work.

                Buon pomeriggio Ivan,

Well it looks private purchase dosen't it with that Walnut/tortoise shell outer covering ! There appears to be an imprint on the upper lid lining, I'm not very good with the 'photo shop etc' but could you please if possible put the lid close up the correct way and 'darken' it to an extent so as to define the imprint.......just a thought.

And is it possible to take a pic of the catch from the front ( close up) and the inner brown material please.

At this moment in time I have no idea, could this Imperial or Civil if German ???

                Kind regards,

                Marcus

Looks like it could be for a 'sash' award.

No indentation for a suspension loop, so perhaps a fixing on the reverse of the award, and the sash in the compartment?

Could well be Allan, I'd expect it to be more 'square' though and bigger, judging from the catch this looks to be an RK size box ?

Can you make out anything from the medal by this impression on the silk? It is not a world war two RK, as the impression and well are circular. The presence of a loop and impression centrally would probably exclude a blood order, olympic sports medal, anschluss, memel or eastern front medal. The size of the case is a little wider relative to length than an RK case and it is difficult to tell the exact size without perspective. I think one would be hard pressed to find an official award case with that pattern on the outside- probably private purchase as stated above. Does the size of the medal well correspond to a Ostvolk medal? Despite the lack of loop, the impression in the silk looks a bit like this, with a central six pedaled "flower" and an outer sunburst. Any thoughts?

this is better, can see arms are not smooth, but with "strikes".

Decoration maybe have grades, maybe gold grade , from the gold line in the lid.

                              Hi Tom,

diameter inside the round is exactly 50 mm.
