    A Few Officers Ribbon Bars

    Wie gehts

I pick up ribbon bars for my officers tunics. These appear to be too generic for me to be distinguishable for identification, but perhaps there is a chance with some of the "poo-bahs" here. Any help is much appreciated.

    Regards

    Dave

          Hey Dave,

          Great looking bars........

What I find interesting is the special 'hooks' on the back of the Austrian one.....

          Way to go

          Cheers

            really great bars!
especially the one with the south west africa medal, the one with the golden military merit medal from württemberg and the lowest one with clasp to the FA medal!
            great finds!!!!!!

The bar containing the EKII, HHOX, and Oldenburg FAII could have belonged to a Leutnant Friedrich KArl Renke, of RIR 4. I used to have his Award Doc for the HHO and the service service record doc. (Can't rember what its called something or another auszug). Anyways he had all those decorations.

Do a search for Renke and you'll find a nice thread

Thanks all for your responses. Daniel: I read your thread on Lt. Renke. Does your info about his FAII indicate he recieved the bar also? Again, what is the criteria for the bar?

P.S. Here are a few more ribbon bars, presumeably EM and NCOs

I've heard mixed opinions on the "vor dem Feind" bar. Some say it should be in the rangliste, others say it was unoffical, Not sure. Sure Rick L knows. His rangliste auszeug made no mention of the bar. EK 1, 2, HHOx, FA 1 and 2. I never saw anything in the regimental history either about it but I found Renke's name. Looking at the battles Renke was in he earned it!

i don't know the date at the moment, but the clasp to the FA cross 2nd class was institued during the war and after institution it was given with the cross to the recipients. and those who got the cross earlier in the war could by it (but have to pay it by themselves).
