(to me) unknown WWI badge, maybe A-H/German? Help needed...

    Hello guys.

I have some sort of WWI (veteran?) brass/enamel badge, but despite extensive search through www and literature, couldn't find any info on its meaning and origin.

I think it is most probably Austro-Hungarian, or even German. However, also any of Allied Powers is not excluded.

    Badge is 3cm in diameter.

Any help with identification would be much appreciated.

Hm... But the abbreviation is ''GR'' (or ''RG''). Not CR/RC?
      At least in my opinion...

        Some additional assumptions:

-Judging by the overall design and needle suspension system, it is most probably Austro-Hungarian, or German. However, any of other Axis and Allied Powers should not be excluded!

-It could be some (civilian, or pseudo-military) association too, or even business company. But that year of 1918 ''smells'' just too much on WWI!

-I would exclude inscription GR/RG as possible royal monogram, because it clearly misses the most important element - the crown. Missing crown may suggest also non-monarchy state as the country of origin, e.g. France, or USA.

If you know where is the best place to try to ID it, please don't hesitate to suggest it.

        Thanks!
