    Unless the Württemberg Silver Merit Medal has the thick wreath, which you can't tell from the obverse, I would think the Hessian AEZ is the rarest.

      I'd assume the AEZ too; Ludwig IV reigned from 1889-1894. Which reverse does it have?

        The rarest medal is the hessian AEZ with the head of Ludwig IV. or the Württemberg merit medal Wilhelm I. with thick wreath are the rarest.....I don't know the correct number of awards...and there are only four würtembergische "Hofbeamte", who had got the Hessian AEZ.....
