Godet EK1 1914 with cast core

    Hi Gents,
Got this beauty recently. I'm not a cross collector, so pls confirm if I'm right--is it what we believe to be a Godet made cross with earlier cast core ? I found another like that, but version with fangs http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...ght=godet+cast

Nice Serg. I have one of those too -- the early ones are very cool.

Both cores are cracked on the same places, is it a weak point of the early godet cores?
@ destruction: is it an engravement on the back of your ek? can you try to post a better foto? can you read it?

but both very nice looking examples

      thanks

      regards kai

        Hi Trevor,
Yep, these little tempters always make me feeling sad that I'm not collecting them Thanx for showing your example!

          Kai,
The 3rd one (in a linked thread) is also cracked, but a bit different. These cast cores seems to be really fragile, yep.
Yes, there is an engraving on the back. That's the best I can do without a camera (with scanner only). The upper row: v. Notz XX AK (Armeekorps probably?)
          The next: 12. 8 (?). 15

                Hey Kai,
Thank you so much for the info! That should be a possibility. There is also another way to identify the owner--this EK came together with Silesian Eagle 1st class and this beautiful spange ( however I got only EK), which seems to be researchable. But that's a puzzle for a new owner, this one has to go on e-stand anyway to make funds for my Freikorps additions

Wow! Why not offer it to Michal privately first so he can reunite it with his Spange?
                  Best regards,
