    Hi all !!
Anyone good out there who can translate ??? Pics tell most of the story .
I picked this up in Germany and also have pictures of the original owner before he passed away. Badge as can be seen is 100% correct and from source. A rarity !! note air slots in crown ...s stunning piece.
any advice reference the translation would be appreciated.

O.K., I'll ask. Does it have the crown mark?

      No crown .

No it states 800 C E Junker Berlin with moon.

and before anyone says it should have a crown .They are wrong this came direct from the owners family. The old boy had died the year before.
This was the only pilots badge he had and was worn by the gentleman concerned during the war. This was stated to me by his grandson who had been given the badge by his grandad .and with all the etxra info i was provided with iam very certain this is correct.
I dont plan to get into a debate about junkers with or with out crowns !!
I have seen original WW1 pieces with and without.
      regards

          Hi Steve,

Thanks for the info. Due to the provenance that is associated with this badge, I would not question the authenticity of the piece. I was just curious to know what kind of maker's marks it has. I have heard both stories as well, and this badge is proof positive of the markings that can be found on an original WW1 period Prussian pilot's badge. Thanks for sharing it with us.

          regards,

          Darren

No need. That is exactly how I would expect to see an original.

Beautiful badge and a beautiful group Steve. I need to find one of these smooth-back Junckers myself some day.

So now that you have this in hand, you still maintain the quality of your tank badge comes close to this?

                  Re tankers badge

I have had this in hand for well over a year and the Panzer WW1 badge for three. Iam still very happy that the tank badge is original. The quality is not as good due to the period.but even so when held it is to be marvelled at construction is super on both. My opinion though !!

If you want to see some of my other bits i have listed some pics under pilotand submarine badges within this section.
                  Hope you enjoy them !!
                  cheers
                  Steve
