    Wartburg-Stadt Eisenach pin

Found tinnies under the same search phrase on the net (but nothing here) but nothing about this one. Help (and more to correct place) please.

Could this be a button instead of a pin? Has a shank like what is found on buttons. What is the diameter of this item? One would have to put a hole in the coat or jacket for the loop to pass through so a ring or clip attached to hold it on

I thought/think it might be. But, it being part of a lot of stuff belonging to a WWII vet and, me not having a clue about all of this kind of thing, I thought I'd pick your collective knowledge.

It could be a button from some religious group, looks like a halo behind the head of the figure

          Hi,

I think, that it is a quite normal touristic pin of Eisenach/Wartburg.

Agree on the coat of arms. but, I don't think there were any thoughts of 'tourism' on the part of the GI deployed during WWII. stranger things have happened though and he is long deceased so I can't ask him.
