Imperial pic. goldmine!!!!

Well my house cleaning guy just gave me a goldmine of photos
4 photo albums FULL of pics.!!!!! and a TON of loose postcards, I 've been going thru them for about an hour now and i'm not even close to being done
I guess i have to brag to someone because everytime time i say to my wife "OOHHH look at this one" i get the same vacant stare ,So here are a couple pics.

Could those boxes be signalling lamps or perhaps some sort of telegraph device? I don't think they are radios.
