    5 Medalbar wuerttemberg :)

Hi ! As you know, i sold some thing of my collection - to buy some new things.

    Here´s one of them.

5 Medalbar of an Wuerttemberg Officer with the EK2, Military merit order (silver gilded one of the mint) , Prussian HOH mm W 938 (Wagner and son, Berlin),
Reserve long service medal 2nd class + Hindycross.

The recipient was Hauptmann Wilhelm Wirthle. He was one of the ~ 100
first recipients of the golden Military merit medal who got it on 1.11.1914 (!). As he got the Military merit order in 1916 he had to return the golden MMM (that`s the reason, why it is missing). Note the HOH ribbon - normally he had to wear the black-white ribbon. He got the HOH in 1917

I like the bar. Its nearly in a perfect condition.

    (thanks to U.)

A really beautiful bar. That one deserves to be called "mint"!

It would be nice to see some other golden military merit medals.

                    does anyone have other bars?

                      Here some of mines:

4 Medalbar with a real golden one (mm 333) and rare merit cross with X .

At the other bar the real golden one is missing (may be sold in bad times). I have all of his papers, too.

Both recipients are known - they were Vizefeldwebel / Offizierstellvertreter in different units - and got the "golden" one on the same day (20.2.18)

Here's mine. Silver gilt variety. I bought it a few years ago for my Weurttemberg collection. I'm not sure that the 1939 spange is authentic and the ribbon wrapping looks suspect. Nice looking bar though still IMO.

For your interest, these were never awarded. A silver gilt medal is a replacement in best case, but I fear most around are made by or for collectors in 20th century's 2nd half...

Interesting. So based on Sachsaw's information, does that mean my bar was put together after WWII?
