    Leutnant z.S name?

    Gentlemen,

    I am reading the name "Lotte" or "Loffe" but cannot find these names in any of the marine ranklists (1918, 1922, etc). Any idea why not?

    The only thing I can think of is for some reason he was not recorded in the 1918 ranklist and then left service after the War.

    I would welcome your thoughts.

    I think the hand written text is a dedication:

    " S./l. kl. Lotte ! " S.(einer) l.(ieben) kl.(einen) Lotte! -

    dedicated to his dear tiny Lotte

    März/March 1917

      I think I should add " Lotte " is the abbreviation of "(Char)lotte"

          I don't see anyone in the 1918 rank list with this combination among Lts.z.S. or those promoted to OLt.z.S. after March 1917, so it is possible he was killed not long after this was taken.
