Hello, i'm new to this site and computers in general. Need some help and opinions to identify M16 helmet. Has no visible markings, apart from a number 17 stamped high up on the inside left, between air vent and rear rivet. This helmet was originally painted dark grey, then had a medium green over that. Bought it off e bay nearly 2 years ago. Then it was described as a WW2 helmet. It was painted gloss black with white underneath. Thought it was a Vickers when i saw the white paint, but has no signs of clasps to hold irish free state badge, and no signs of having the extra large rivets on the outside. The shell is pitted, but not too bad, has no liner, chinstrap or rivets and weighs 1lb 6oz or 680 grammes. Anybody got any ideas ?
