help by restoration of a fine bar

    Hello,

having some time now, i am planing to restore this beautiful bar of Generalmajor Johannes Zuckertort. You can see clearly on the picture, that it is exactly the same bar he is wearing. It should not be a problem to attach a new bulgarian medal. But i need some advice for the Albrechtsorden. Is it possible that the one, which is still on the bar, was the version with swords, and the swords are gone together with the medallion?
Or do you think this is already a replacement without swords?
The bar comes directly from the family and it don t looks like the Albrechtorden has ever been put down from the bar. If this is the original one, i would keep him on the bar, even this damaged.
    Thx for your comments.
    Best regards
    Detlev

That is a beautiful bar. Can you tell if it ever had swords attached?

If you do replace the Albrechtorden with a new one I could use the rear medallion from the one to repair one that I own.

Even if it has been replaced by the wearer or his family, I'd keep it as is.

          wow, nice clasp.
The bulgarian war memorial medal missing the last clasp.
I hope you put all in order
          Thanks for show.

            Hi,
            thx for the replies.
@Don, yes originally he is wearing the swords.
But what i want to know is, if the construction of the award is the same with or without swords and if it is in generell possible thats this broken award was initially the sword version.
            Thx

I'm curious as to how a general could earn a bravery awards like the second awarding of the EKI & II and the DK? Did they actually engage in actual combat or were they awarded them because the men under them do something?

For excellent leadership, not neccessarily in combat.
                Regards, Alex

Now that's a big bar! A real Traumstück!
Was it common for a generalmajor to get so many grand star orders (three big ones on his left breast)? And what's the cross at his neck?

If he was to fall into a lake he would sink like a rock with so much bling on him

It looks like the Romanian Order of the Star with swords.

I strongly recommend NOT to alter the bar in any way. Leave it as is, it matches the picture.
