    German Drilling with Imperial Crest

Purchased a nicely engraved German drilling by Munch & Cie in Frankfurt from a vets son. On the rear of reciever are scrolled initials under a crown. Is there any way to identify owner or family of this weapon?

    Thanks for your time

A crown with 7 stars/tines/teeth is a so called "Freiherrnkrone" - barron crown.

So the owner of your drilling should have been a noble man who held the rank of a "Freiherr".

The two letters will not give you a name. There should be engraved a coat-of-arms.

      I forgot, the 2 letters I read "G P " or "G F".

Nice gun would be nice to see pics of the whole gun. There was a drilling on the red jacket tv show the other night and one of guy's grandmother fired it after it had been repaired, she fired all 3 barrels and she must be in her 80's. It was her gun
