800 is not sufficient as maker mark recognition but just a silver contend mark.(due the retailing factor )

so theoretically it can be used by all manufactures.

if you want the maker of the cross ,inner corner comparing as well as hardware comparing would be the right way as first step .

    regards kay

Thanks for your help but i must disagree. like the inner corners of the frame or the hardware, so is the 800 mark an individual fingerprint of the different ek makers. I could immediately recognize every juncker medal because of its 800mark but i cant recognize that one.

The ek itself is unknown, so it is useless to make any hints wit its hardware or other fingerprints. Only the 800 mark is the door to success i fear....

Thanks a lot for your help!

Actually I have two ideas about your stamp but I can't find good photos of either stamp.

          One is a Mayer:

The other one is a cross I know very well, let me find good photos. It has a rather large and distinctive 800 mark. Is yours quite big?

Here is the best I can do on the other mark. Maybe Don can show us a bigger shot?

This is J. Godet -- 1939 EKs are not known by this maker. So if you have an unknown 1939 EK1, this could be an idea.
