    "Bound" sword devices automatically Bavarian?

This "bound" sword device is traditionally associated with the Bavarian MVK/MVO.

Given that it was improperly slapped on a Hindenburg Cross, would it be too much of a leap to assume that this ribbon bar was assembled in Bavaria? In other words, how likely is it that a tailor would have had access to this device outside of Bavaria, and thus the potential to accidentally grab it?

    Nice bar!

This device is indeed typical for the Bav.MVO.
But this could also be found on Prussian and whatever bars with Bavarian Orders. So I assume this type was also in the stocks of the "better" outfitters in Prussia. Maybe he just put it because it was the first one he grabbed out from the box.

    Best regards

    Daniel

I had no idea whether or not that device would be found outside of Bavarian outfitters, and so that left me wondering if it was a quirky regional affectation that would have been strictly regional.

      Thanks,
      Chris
