          In my opinion this is indeed cast.

          This design is known from pendants used on chains. It is highly detailed, quite thin, and shiny. On this one you can see the hollow at the top where the loop was on the original example.

          When I am back to my home computer I can post an image of an original and the differences will be plain.

            I think your assumption is correct and I have to agree with
            Trevor.

            Here is a button hole example that has seen lots of wear.
            The detail that was once there is pretty much worn away
            and the enameled core is all chipped and pitted.

            However by looking at the side view, you can really see
            how thin it is. It measures only .6 mm thick. and is stamped
            from sheet silver.
