Military Merit Cross (Mecklenburg-Schwerin) - opinions please

Hi Guys,

I found this Military Merit Cross (Mecklenburg-Schwerin) in a box at home - think I bought it in an auction lot some time ago - is it a good one?

Ribbon looks odd to me, anyway thanks for looking and for any comments.

the cross is good, the ribbon is wrong,
don't know from which medal it is.

The cross is a less common variant without the umlats over the U in FUR.

I had thought the ribbon may be Schaumberg related but I cannot find the correct one anywhere in any Kingdom/State.

I have seen this strange "1" before on this medals but I dont know if they are late ones, private purchases, fakes or something else?

Hi Peter,

I'd like to see an edge shot of that cross. With the shiny background reflection, I can't tell if I'm seeing a casting seam on the edges or whether the cross is a genuine late war zincer.

Mike is right the zinc are later war time issue. This one
looks not bad to me. The serious "1" is also correct.
Non-ferrous ring. IMO a good one, I don't have any
problems in what I see on this fotos.
