      Hi Eric,

Hansen screwbacks are uncommon, although less-so since the "Hansen hoard" of a few years ago. This looks like a worn piece rather than one of the hoeard pieces though (most of those had rusty core issues and were 800 marked). That would add a bit of value to a collector in the know. The 938 examples are also a lot less common the the 800 examples, which are hard to find anyway, so that would add a bit as well. Still, the final price seems a bit high but that's eBay.

      Regards
      Mike

In summer, one Hansen on german eBay went for 1.200 euros. Then, after less than one month, it appeared again - and went for more than 1.200 euros again. I can´t recall if it was 800 or 938.
So, 871 dollars is good investment, IMO.

Wow, I guess I'm out of touch. If someone wants my 938 example for 1200 Euro, they know how to find me!!

I can´t disagree, I did some very good "kaufs", but there were also some items I expected to be far cheaper than they actually have been at the end. One example for all: http://www.ebay.de/itm/251192583900?...orig_cvip=true

So, Mike, if you have "the ladder" KMST as well, you are in the money!!!

                Regards Miro

PS: It was Hansen 938. I´ve found the link. 1259 euros to be precise. http://www.ebay.de/itm/170847198840?...orig_cvip=true

The prices for the more common crosses have come down a bit.
But the hard to find crosses (like the Hansen) still bring a premium.
Much more than I comfortable spending.

Thank you Gents I appreciate the lesson. I thought I'd get my first EK1 in a decade for a couple of hundred with it being the holidays. Lol! I just liked it, no other reason.

                        Cheers

sold that cross to a Dutch guy privately .

only to be turning up at 2010 on ebay coming with a nonsense expertise from Militaria Berlin

they even used my picture on that ebay auction.

just mention it so you guy's don't think I would ever need a
( or get me one ever) expertise from those militaria berlin dudes .

I would shoot me in my head first before I ever turn to those guy's .

So, this one was yours, Kay? Heh, coincidence... Maybe sometimes between 2010 and 2012 it came through Militaria Berlin and - as an item over 250 euros - it was supported with free expertise.
