    Odd Ribbon Bar

Still unable to render visually. I have to describe. Sorry!

The other day I received an extremely odd ribbon bar. I believe it to be original. It dates from post WW1 to pre 1935, no 'Hindenburg Cross', or any WW2 awards.

On this 8 place bar #s 4, 5, 6 are a Colonial Medal, a Siamese Crown Order, a China Medal

    Regarding the Siamese CrownOrder...

I was at a loss until I saw the same ribbon on a bar in the Ribbon Bar Article.

How common was this award? Who received it, and for what?

On the China ribbon is a large crown.

    What's the story here?

    Any help appreciated

    David

    What are the OTHER ribbons?

There shouldn't be anything on a 1900-1901 China Medal ribbon except battle bars....

The Siamese Orders were given to naval personnel who stopped in on official visits--not a huge number given the German Pacific forces afloat, but ALSO, for many long years, to army personnel connected with training the VAST numbers of Siamese Princes who often went to Germany for officer training. Knowing what the OTHER ribbons are may help to figure out whether the ribbon bar is army or navy.

What color is the backing? Rick

      other ribbons

I don't know what some of the other ribbons are, I'll do my best to describe

      #1 - unknown
      Grass green with white edges

#2 - Finland Cross of Liberty (at least that's what it looks like)
      NOTE: with a crown

      #3 - unlnown
dead ringer for the 1914 EKII ... but with Red stripes
NOTE: On this is a EK maltese cross device (upside down)

      #4 - Colonial Medal

      #5 - Siamese Crown Order

#6 - China Service Medal...with that blasted crown

      #7 - unknown
Dark Red ribbon with two thin dark blue stripe near each side

#8 - Could be a Long Service Ribbon
      Looks purple though

      NOTE: Over #7 & #8 is a oakleaf withWeltkrieg 1914-18

      The backing color is black

Does this help, or does it get stickier

The bar is beat up, and bent, and stained...

      Thanx

      David
